Maca Hot Chocolate

250ml almond milk
½ – 1 tbsp maple syrup (depending on your palate)
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp true maca powder
25g dark chocolate (70% or higher), chopped

Method:

  1. Pour the milk into a saucepan. Add the maple syrup, vanilla and maca powder. Whisk everything together.
  2. Place the saucepan over a low heat, heating until just before milk simmers.
  3. Add the chopped chocolate and remove from heat. Set aside for 2 minutes so that the chocolate melts.
  4. Whisk everything together vigorously until even and smooth, scraping the chocolate from the bottom of the pan as you go.
  5. Serve hot!

(Tip: For the most even and perfect looking hot chocolate blend everything once more with a hand blender. Put back on the heat to bring the temperature back up. This step is totally optional!)
