
250ml almond milk
½ – 1 tbsp maple syrup (depending on your palate)
½ tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp true maca powder
25g dark chocolate (70% or higher), chopped
Method:
- Pour the milk into a saucepan. Add the maple syrup, vanilla and maca powder. Whisk everything together.
- Place the saucepan over a low heat, heating until just before milk simmers.
- Add the chopped chocolate and remove from heat. Set aside for 2 minutes so that the chocolate melts.
- Whisk everything together vigorously until even and smooth, scraping the chocolate from the bottom of the pan as you go.
- Serve hot!
(Tip: For the most even and perfect looking hot chocolate blend everything once more with a hand blender. Put back on the heat to bring the temperature back up. This step is totally optional!)
